The world has produced over 9 billion tons of plastic in the last 50 years, and more than TWO THIRDS of this is now in our environment. On average, less than 10 percent of the 450 million tons of plastic produced every year is recycled. While there are terrific initiatives around the world to move away from plastic to bio-degradable alternatives, that change will likely take some time. In the meanwhile, our planet is increasingly beginning to look like a giant ball wrapped in clingfilm. The only thing that is growing at an equally exponential pace is our adoption of social media platforms. There are now 3.5 billion social media users in the world, sharing hundreds of millions of posts and stories every single day. What if we could make those posts truly count? What if we could inspire each otherwith stories of how we're coming together in our homes, in our neighborhoods, and in our communities, to help save our environment? At KleanUp, we're creating the foundation for a conscientious, social platform where you will be able to do just that. The KleanUp Story
KleanUp was born out of a desire to create a better world. A world that is cleaner than the one we live in today. At first, it was going to be just us and a few of our friends coming together to help clean parks, school grounds and other public spaces in and around the city of Allen. That, in and of itself, was a lot of fun. It helped us feel like we were part of a community - one where we shared the common responsibility of helping and supporting each other. But then, we were quick to recognize that creating a better world cannot begin and end with us getting together once in a blue moon. What if we could create a conscientious social network that would push itself to create a better world by bringing people together to have fun while making meaningful contributionsin their own communities. We knew that "social" platforms had the power to bring people together. But we did not just want to create another platform for people to share random, filtered, pictures of themselves and their material possessions. Instead, we wanted to create a thriving, vibrant communityof people, coming together every day in their own neighborhoods, to share their stories of how they're keeping our environment clean. So, whether it is picking up a piece of plastic on your daily run or organizing an eventto bring friends together to clean up your neighborhood, we'd love for you to tell your story on KleanUp. Activities
KleanUp is all about we the people coming together to save our environment. From cleaning up our neighborhoods, to sharing inspiring stories with the world, to organizing recycling awareness events, we bring people together to help create a better world. But we have no illusions about the extent of our imagination. If there is one thing we know, it is simply this - that we do not know what we do not know. So, if you have ideas and would like to help us, send us your suggestions, and we'll be more than happy to incorporate those into our ever growing list of initiatives. Or better yet, share a picture and a story of your idea with the greater KleanUp community. You never quite know who you're going to inspire!
Events
KleanUp "Events" can help you organize and host community events. Depending on where your event is taking place, it will be matched to members of the KleanUp community, so they can volunteer to participate. Your KleanUp feed will let you see what events are coming up, where and when. We hope this initiative will not only reduce the large amount of waste in our ecosystems, but will also create a fun environment for people to come together with a greater sense of purpose to serve the community.
Stories
Most social platforms are about documenting the stories of our lives - where we go, who we're with, what we're eating. Nothing wrong with that, but what about the stuff we do because we care about our planet. That's what KleanUp stories are for. Every KleanUp post is a story. You share a photo of anything you've seen or done that you believe will help create a better world! Picking up a plastic bottle on your daily run, planting a tree in your backyard, organizing an event to pick up pet poop from your neighborhood, the things you can do to inspire others are truly limitless.

Information collected through our App
In Short: We collect information regarding your geo-location, mobile device, push notifications, when you use our App.
If you use our App, we also collect the following information:
- Geo-Location Information. We may request access or permission to and track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our App, to provide certain location-based services. Specifically, KleanUp uses your location to help you find KleanUp events near you that you can participate in to help the local community.
- Mobile Device Access.We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device's camera, and other features.
- Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or certain features of the App.
This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our App, for troubleshooting and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.
2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.
We use personal information collected via our App for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests, in order to allow you to use the App, with your consent, and/or for compliance with our legal obligations.
- To facilitate account creation and logon process. We use your phone number as provided by you to verify your identity before we can create an account for you on the App
- Request feedback. We may use your information to request feedback and to contact you about your use of our App.
- To enable user-to-user communications.We may use your information in order to enable user-to-user communications with each user's consent.
- To manage user accounts. We may use your information for the purposes of managing our account and keeping it in working order.

No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us.

However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Terms of Use and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.

9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.
10. DO CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: Yes, if you are a resident of California, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the "Shine The Light" law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year.
